Progetto Fuoco 2026 the international Forum that brings together companies, institutions and stakeholders
Veronafiere’s General Director, Adolfo Rebughini: «The European Pellet Forum strengthens Progetto Fuoco’s role as the industrial platform for the biomass-energy sector. Not only an observatory of trends, but the place where companies, institutions and European networks define standards, interoperability and new development opportunities».
Verona confirms its role as an international hub for biomass heating: Progetto Fuoco, the world’s leading event dedicated to technologies for heat and energy production from wood and pellet, organized by Veronafiere and scheduled from 25 to 28 February 2026, returns once again. The 2026 edition will feature a major highlight: the European Pellet Forum, which for the first time comes to Italy after previous editions in Austria, France and Poland, reinforcing Italy’s role as a key player in the energy transition and in the European wood-energy supply chain.
The Forum, organized by AIEL – Italian Agroforestry Energy Association, technical partner of Progetto Fuoco, in collaboration with the European Pellet Council and Bioenergy Europe, will take place on 27 February 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. It will provide a unique opportunity for dialogue among producers, distributors, technicians, institutions and stakeholders. After the sharp price and supply fluctuations recorded in 2022–2023, the pellet sector is entering a new phase of industrial maturity. Technological progress is shifting the focus from domestic applications to integrated high-efficiency solutions: smart boilers, district heating networks, biomass for industrial use. In this context, Progetto Fuoco hosts the Forum, becoming the meeting point between policies, research and business in the wood-energy sector. The day will address the most relevant topics for the industry: production and supply dynamics, European energy and environmental policies, pellet quality and certification, traceability, and the fight against illegal imports.
«The European Pellet Forum strengthens Progetto Fuoco’s role as the industrial platform for the biomass-energy sector» says Adolfo Rebughini, General Director of Veronafiere. «It is not just a trend observatory, but the place where companies, institutions and European networks define standards, interoperability and new development opportunities».
«Pellet is now a strategic resource for Europe’s energy transition, able to combine environmental sustainability, supply security and economic development» states Domenico Brugnoni, President of AIEL. «Hosting the European Pellet Forum in Italy for the first time means recognizing our country’s contribution and giving a voice to a supply chain that looks to the future with confidence. As AIEL, we are committed to promoting quality, innovation and market transparency, topics that will be central to the discussion during the event».
Progetto Fuoco: an international stage
Progetto Fuoco, organized by Veronafiere, is the world’s most important international exhibition dedicated to biomass heating systems and represents the global benchmark for the entire wood-energy supply chain. The exhibition, returning to Verona from 25 to 28 February 2026, brings together hundreds of companies from around the world and offers a comprehensive overview of products ranging from next-generation stoves to designer fireplaces, from high-efficiency boilers to barbecues and wood-fired cookers, as well as components and accessories for installations. Leading Italian and international companies representing the entire biomass heating sector will attend Progetto Fuoco. The updated exhibitor list is available at this link.
Alongside the exhibition area, Progetto Fuoco stands out for its extensive program of conferences, seminars and technical workshops organized in collaboration with AIEL. These sessions focus on key issues related to technological innovation, environmental sustainability and European regulations, offering training and discussion opportunities for experts, installers and designers. The conference program is currently being finalized and will soon be published on the event website.
Thanks to this combination of exhibition and in-depth analysis, the event reaffirms its role as a privileged observatory of sector trends and the challenges of the energy transition, highlighting the strategic role of biomass within the renewable energy landscape.
