The event is organised by Veronafiere, Progetto Fuoco and AIEL. Speeches are scheduled by Environment Minister Pichetto Fratin and MASAF Undersecretary Luigi D’Eramo
From all the news on Conto Termico 3.0, the fundamental tool that offers non-repayable contributions to improve the energy efficiency of buildings and incentivise the use of renewable sources, to system policies for improving air quality. And then the outlook on the relaunch of the forest-wood-energy supply chain, with economic and employment scenario data, and a focus on the role of biomass in the future of Italy and Europe.
All the most tipical issues for the wood biomass heating sector will be at the centre of the “National Wood Energy Forum – policies, incentives, actions for the future of renewable thermal energy”, scheduled in the Verdi Auditorium of the Veronafiere Congress Centre next Friday 28 March from 9.30 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. (registration at this link). The event, organised by Veronafiere and Progetto Fuoco, the exhibition representing the reference point for the wood-energy supply chain, in collaboration with AIEL – Italian Association of Agroforestry Energy, will bring together in Verona the protagonists of a sector called upon to make a further contribution to energy transition and the fight against energy poverty.
The Forum will be an opportunity to strengthen the dialogue between operators in the forest-wood-energy supply chain and representatives of institutions att the European, national and regional levels, in order to develop a programmatic platform capable of enhancing the sector by strengthening cooperation between companies, associations and policy makers. Speakers at the event will include the Minister for the Environment and Energy Security Gilberto Pichetto Fratin, the Undersecretary at the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry Luigi D’Eramo and the Veneto Region’s Councillor for the Environment Gianpaolo Bottacin.
National Wood Energy Forum: the program
The event will open with institutional greetings by Federico Bricolo, President of Veronafiere, Domenico Brugnoni, President of AIEL, Gianpaolo Bottacin, Veneto Region Councillor for the Environment, Climate, Civil Protection and Hydrogeological Upheaval, Luigi D’Eramo, Undersecretary for Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forests, and Gilberto Pichetto Fratin, Minister for the Environment and Energy Security. At 10.50 a.m. a focus on ‘Incentives and new provisions to contain emissions from wood biomass heating systems in Lombardy’, with Gian Luca Gurrieri, Lombardy Region’s Climate, Emissions and Physical Agents Manager. At 11.10 a.m. the protagonist will be “Conto Termico 3.0: the incentive that supports high-efficiency and low-emission technologies for a renewable and sustainable future”, with Enrico Bonacci, MASE Energy Department Technical Secretariat. At 11.30 a.m. Emilio Gatto, Director of the General Directorate for Mountain Economy and Forests of the MASAF, will speak on “Which national policies to relaunch the forest-wood-energy supply chain: current situation and future prospects”. At 11.50 a.m. Franco Cotana, CEO of RSE SpA (Ricerca Sistema Energetico) will take stock of the “Economic dimension and employment relapses in the territories of the woody biomass for energy sector”.
At 12.10 p.m. Adolfo Rebughini, Director General of Veronafiere, will present “Progetto Fuoco 2026: a showcase of excellence for technological innovations in the biomass heating sector”. The event will close at 12.20 p.m. with a round table with members of the Italian and European Parliament entitled “Autonomy, sustainability, decarbonisation: the role of biomass in the future of Italy and Europe”. Paolo Borchia, Member of the European Parliament, Head of the Lega, Lega delegation “Patriots for Europe” Group.
Progetto Fuoco 2026
Progetto Fuoco is the world’s most important event dedicated to heating equipment and energy production through biomass. The event organised by Veronafiere is held every two years and will therefore return in 2026, from 25 to 28 February. Saranno presentate soluzioni innovative per l’ottimizzazione dell’uso delle risorse naturali, la riduzione delle emissioni di CO2 e l’incremento dell’efficienza energetica. L’evento offrirà anche spazi di confronto su politiche e strategie per promuovere un futuro energetico sostenibile, con focus su economia circolare e riduzione dell’impronta ecologica Innovative solutions for optimising the use of natural resources, reducing CO2 emissions and increasing energy efficiency will be presented. The event will also provide space for discussion on policies and strategies to promote a sustainable energy future, with a focus on the circular economy and reducing the ecological footprint.
